Overview

Lots of people don’t know what’s going on in their tap water. Some say that drinking its bad for you, others just stick to bottled drinks and never explain why. How do we find these things out? That’s what we here at Sunray Rural Water Authority do.

It’s becoming more urgent to figure out how to balance our water supply in Australia. Urban areas tend to use a lot, while rural locations with higher Aboriginal populations have less stable access. Our government is committed to working with businesses and citizens in order to even out these disparities over the next 10 years Sunray Rural Water Authority is working hard to keep Australians involved in all levels of the decision making process.

How do you provide quality water for the future? We do it by teaching people about our water and why it’s valuable. You can’t convince anyone to save something that they don’t value. We’re also engaged in monitoring and reporting regularly on the quality level in all of the sources of our country’s water. The other thing that has to happen is showing people step by step methods for saving water. It’s no good to lecture or shame folks for not being “proper citizens”. They need things to do that are easy and make sense.

Sunray Rural Water Authority is building on the present and looking to the future. We believe that, as Australians are taught to understand the importance and value of water, then saving it will make more sense. Coupling that education with simple actions that have great impact will allow everyone to help. When everyone helps, the future of Australia’s water is secured.
